With every new season, comes a new skincare routine. Depending on how hot/cold or humid/dry it is, your skin needs change. When it’s hot and humid, it’s best to use products with a lighter consistency, because during this time your skin retains more moisture. However, when it’s cold and dry, it’s best to use a heavier cream that deeply moisturizes to make up for lost hydration. So, what do you do during the fall when it’s just getting cold, but it’s still a little humid?
During the fall I still like to use light essence and serum, since it’s not cold enough that my oily skin feels too dry. Instead, the product that I look to change is my moisturizer or cream. Most of us will use a gel-type moisturizer or emulsion during the summer months, but for the fall, I like to switch to a light cream. It may not be super cold yet, but it’s getting there, so you should prepare by stepping up the moisture a bit.
Think about reaching for a cream like the Papa Recipe Eggplant Clearing Cream. I originally tried this cream because I have inflammatory acne, so I prefer to fill my routine with products that soothe or calm skin. This cream contains several ingredients that are good for soothing skin troubles, such as:
- 72% Eggplant Extract- helps reduce inflammation and sebum production, also high in antioxidants which help fight against signs of aging.
- Centella Asiatica Extract- helps reduce inflammation and heal blemishes quickly.
- Houttuynia Cordata Extract- helps to soothe and calm irritated skin.
- Calendula Flower Extract- has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help to heal blemishes.
These calming ingredients are not only good for those who suffer from acne like me, but also those whose skin get easily irritated. During the fall, seasonal allergies can cause skin to become more irritated, so soothing ingredients are a must. This cream also contains common skincare power ingredients such as Niacinamide, Adenosine, and Sodium Hyaluronate. Moreover, it contains no added fragrances or dyes, so it’s a good option for those with sensitivities to these.
In addition to being great for soothing irritation and inflammation, it’s the cream’s consistency that makes it perfect for fall. As stated before, we want a cream that doesn’t feel heavy, but still hydrates enough to prevent loss of moisture from the cold. The Papa Recipe Clearing Cream has the consistency of a classic cream but doesn’t feel heavy or leave behind a sticky residue.
I’ve been using this cream for the past month and I haven’t needed, or wanted, to reach for another moisturizer. During the day, it layers well under makeup and helps to lessen any oiliness throughout the day. At night, it’s the perfect end to a long routine, because it’s not too heavy to layer over several essences or serums, and it leaves my skin feeling smooth. I always wake up with skin that looks calm and bouncy, and any blemishes look noticeably less red and inflamed. This cream has quickly become a favorite and I couldn’t help but want to share how great it would fit into a fall routine. If you suffer from acne or know that your skin gets extra sensitive because of allergy season, think about giving this cream a try!
