Sleeping Beauty - M Review 40

Why sleeping masks?

New York’s weather has been extra erratic these days. Just last week, the temperature went above 70’s – in February! The day after, it went down to 30 degrees. Huh..? What am I supposed to prepare for?

These days, I get confused how to prep my skin in the morning. Instead, I’m very preoccupied with recovering my skin through my night routine. But, I’m going to be honest and admit – I’ve been lazy and been slacking off from the ‘one sheet a day’ routine. I was so busy with work, travels, and social life, I’m so drained by the time I get home. When I have only five hours left until the alarm rings for the next morning, there is no way I can fit in 20 mins for a sheet mask. Reality sometimes wins over you. So I’ve started to rely on a fast yet effective alternative method – sleeping masks! More than that, some of my favorite Youtube influencers have been mentioning these two products – LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask and COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask. So, I was curious and thought it would be fun to try and compare these two products.

Testing the Products & Results

After I complete my regular night skincare regime, I applied the sleeping mask as the final step. I applied Laneige Water Sleeping Mask on the left side of my face, and applied Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask on the right side of my face.

So, What is better?!

What do I choose for my skin?!? ...COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask.

Maybe, it’s just the weather…

I promise it is not because of my bias for COSRX! I do prefer the experience of Laneige – the application, absorption, and cooling sensation. On the other hand, I felt secure with COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask. On the account that COSRX Rice Overnight Mask’s sensation, I think I will end up reaching out for Laneige during the warmer weathers. The cooling sensation would play that extra asset to calm down heated skin during summer months.

Does it really matter what skin type you have?

Although I don’t particularly think skin types make a difference, but due to the texture, those who have oily skin would favor Laneige Water Sleeping Mask’s gel consistency. COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask would suit those with dry skin.

Truth be told…

I’ve only been having 5 hours of sleep, in average. Maybe, on some good days, I got to sleep 7 hours. For those who gets 8 hours of sleep would probably have better results for both products. Alrighty~ I hope this comparison review helped you guys figure out which one would work better for you.

Take care,
Jae Kim
