dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

With its growing popularity over the years, I’m pretty sure the famous Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream needs no introduction whatsoever. It’s an absolute dream for those with oily and acne-prone skin, providing amazing cooling and calming properties to help soothe any irritations, inflammations, and sensitivities. So if you struggle with any of the above, then you’ve got to give this a try!

An important thing to keep in mind is that this cream is not meant to be used as a moisturizer. It’s a soothing cream and designed to work as more of a spot treatment where you apply small amounts to areas of irritation and gently spread it around until it’s fully absorbed.

Best Suited For: Oily, troubled, and sensitive skin types

Benefits:

  • Reduces irritations and inflammations caused by pimples and acne
  • Helps regenerate damaged skin and prevents scarring
  • Calms down redness after long-term sun exposure
  • Soothes the skin after intense pore care, laser treatment, or post shaving

Key Ingredients:

  • Guaiazulene - A powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent extracted from chamomile oil that gives the cream its beautiful blue color
  • Centella Asiatica Extract - Helps hydrate and relieve irritated skin while promoting collagen production

Other notable ingredients include Sodium Hyaluronate, Jojoba Oil, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Peptides, and Ceramide just to name a few. Full ingredient list is pictured below. This cream is also vegan and cruelty-free, and formulated without any artificial coloring, fragrance, and essential oils, which I really appreciate!

Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Ingredients

Packaging:

The cream comes in two sizes: 30 ml and 60 ml. The smaller version is packaged in a cute little glass jar and also comes with a spatula, while the larger version comes in a super convenient squeeze tube. I’m such a sucker for anything with a simple yet aesthetic packaging, so I have to give Klairs an A+ for a job well done here!

Texture:

The texture of this blue cream is so incredibly smooth, making it extremely easy to spread - it literally glides onto my skin like butter! A little goes a long way, so I typically only apply a very small amount to irritated patches and it’s able to cover a pretty big surface area. Once the cream is fully absorbed, it kind of creates a thin protective layer over the skin but surprisingly doesn’t leave any sticky or tacky residue whatsoever!

My Thoughts:

Like the name implies, this cream is intended to be used at night because it gives the product the maximum amount of time to speed up the recovery of damaged skin. I typically apply the cream right after using my serums and before my main moisturizer because it’s just not hydrating enough to pass off as a full-on night time moisturizer. After just a couple weeks of incorporating this into my routine, I’ve already noticed a huge difference in the overall redness on my face. All the angry, irritated patches are noticeably less inflamed and my acne scars have slowly started to disappear as well!

As someone with combination/oily, sensitive, and eczema prone skin (I know, that’s a real mouth-full), I’m constantly on the hunt for products with the right ingredients, textures, and finishes that work for my skin type. And like many others in the skincare community, it probably comes as no surprise that I immediately fell in love with this magical cream! It has slowly become my go-to product to combat redness, itchiness, breakouts, and everything else in between, you name it! Especially if you’re someone like me who just can’t resist poking and squeezing and popping pimples, this is definitely a must-have product to have in your stash!
Have you tried this cream before? What’s your favorite Klairs product that I should try next?

By yours truly,
Ashley
