Etude House In The Cafe Palette

As you guys know I'm a sucker for cute packaging and #EtudeHouse always gets me! I decided to try out their Play Color Eyes eyeshadow palette in the shade "In The Cafe", which turned out to be a very beginner's friendly, neutral color palette.

The cute packaging is small and portable, with a large mirror and 10 different shades of mainly brown colors, 3 shimmer shades, and a very soft pink shade that can be used as a blush also. The colors aren't pigmented and some of them don't show up on my skin at all , as you can see from the swatches. I think the color range would be most noticeable on someone with fair skin. I do, however, like the shimmer shades a lot, they're a lot more pigmented and super wearable for everyday. I think they match really well with the deeper browns or by themselves, all over the lid.

Etude House Play Color Eyes Swatch

I'm sadly not a fan of the little applicators that the palette came with; I find it hard to apply color as the sponge-like texture absorbs a lot of the powder. They might be good at smudging, but I much prefer to use my fingers to apply the colors, especially the shimmers, and my own brush to blend things out as needed.

So overall, it's a cute, portable one for beginners or for someone that doesn't necessarily want bold, pigmented colors, as the shades are very forgiving of any mistakes and great for everyday. So it depends on what you're looking for!
