Healing Dry Skin with Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream – M Review 132

Ceramidin Cream

Dry skin is a common skin care concern we all face during colder weathers, whether its because of the cold winds, over washing our face, or a permanent skin condition. My skin gets dry after cleansing and throughout the day during winter. I began using Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream and instantly, those dry areas disappeared!

Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream product line is named after the ingredient Ceramide. Ceramides are lipids (fats) found in the outer layer of our skin. It plays an essential role in forming a protective layer over the skin that is responsible for preventing moisture loss and protecting against environmental stressors. Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream contains 5-Cera Complex, 5 types of Ceramides which are

  • Ceramide NP
  • Ceramide AP
  • Ceramide AS
  • Ceramide NS
  • Ceramide EOP

These ceramides help to lock in moisture and prevent and heal dryness. As it strengthens the skin barrier, it also drastically changes the appearance of the skin because dry skin is prone to more wrinkle, redness, and loss of firmness and elasticity.

Use and Application:

I was convinced to try this cream while watching a vlog of a Dr. Jart insider. I noticed the areas around my nose and lips were getting dry to the point my face stung, especially after shaving. I also noticed my concealer getting patchy mid-day because I did not have a layer of moisture beneath it. I added this to my skincare routine and applied this after my sunscreen. At night, I would occasionally replace my essence, emulsion and night cream for a dime-sized amount of Ceramidin Cream when I wanted to cut down on my skincare routine.

Texture:

The color is similar to shea butter, one of the ingredients found in the cream. It is the perfect consistency, not runny or too thick, and instantly absorbs after massaging it over the face. It glides and applies like butter, so you do not need to follow up with any other cream. There is barely any scent or fragrance making it suitable for sensitive skin.

My Thoughts:

I genuinely love a product that can cut down my skincare routine, and this one is it! On days I feel lazy, I would only cleanse, use a toner, apply sunscreen, and apply Ceramidin Cream. Leaving your skin dry for too long is one of the biggest causes of breakout. I have normal skin type, so I only use this after shaving and sometimes at night, but I highly recommend this for anyone with very dry skin, using retinol, or under Accutane. The cream is made for the face, but I also found that it works great on the any dry patches on the body. Other products in the same Ceramidin line are:
