Papa Recipe Bombee Toner: Which One is the Right One for Your Skin? – M Review 54

Toners, toners, toners… when I first got introduced to them I didn’t really understand why I needed them so much, but everything changed the moment I tried one. You know how when you wash the dishes you wet the sponge before applying the dish soap to it? When the surface is dry it's way harder for the product to absorb into the sponge. Well, the same thing happens with our skin. If we just started applying layers and layers of products over our dry skin it would be incredibly hard for it to let all these formulas sink in, and there my friends is what you need a toner in a few words.

Now, not all toners work the same of course and hydrating our skin is not their only perk. Toners also help our skin balance its pH levels, which is a must if we want to keep it healthy and free of breakouts, extreme dryness, uneven texture, and wrinkles. A good quality toner can immediately and efficiently provide our skin with antioxidants, and soothing/hydrating agents which together can enhance our skin both inside and out, so it can protect itself from toxins and damaging agents from the environment.

But how do you pick the right one for you? I'm not gonna lie: testing new toners is one of my favorite hobbies, and lately, I had the chance to do so with Papa Recipe's new collection. Papa Recipe is a brand I've always had respect for because of their high quality yet super simple and raw formulas. For the past month I tested out three of their newest toners from the Bombee line: Tea Tree, Kalamansi and Honey, and while I'm in love with all of them, here are a few insights in case you're not sure which one is the right one for you.

Papa Recipe - Kalamansi Brightening Toner

This one was a whole new world for me. First of I had never heard of this ingredient before and got blown away by its benefits. Being that it is a citrus type of fruit, Kalamansi plays an absolute key role in brightening dull skin. It attacks directly dark spots and redness and has the power to rejuvenate cells turning them into brighter and cleared versions of themselves.

If you're looking for a brightening product but are scared it can be abrasive, irritating or even uncomfortable to use this is the product that will change your mind. This toner feels as fresh as a glass of cold water. Best thing? I can see its effects the very next morning. A tip for this one is to keep it on the fridge for calming effects.

Papa Recipe - Bombee Honey Moist Toner

Well, well, well… I introduce you to my favorite from this line. Maybe it's because I got to try it during winter or maybe because of its light yet exquisite honey scent, but this formula worked great for my sensitive/combo skin. A little thicker than the other formulas, this super hydrating one instantly soothes and nourished dry skin and keeps it moist all day long.

During winter one of my biggest concerns is using products that will retain moisture in so I don't have to worry about dehydration throughout the day. Well, this toner is definitely helping me accomplish that goal. I happen to find this toner very calming too as honey is not only a super hydrating ingredient but also antibacterial, meaning it has the power to treat and prevent acne. A true all-in-one.

Papa Recipe - Tea Tree Oil Control Toner

Do you suffer from enlarged pores, acne prone skin, breakouts and/or sensitivity? Then this one is the one for you. In case you're not familiar with this ingredient, tea tree oil is considered one of those products that can treat everything. Tea tree oil has the potential to lower bacteria levers on the skin, reducing inflammation and targeting breakouts directly, which can be helpful when treating a variety of skin issues, acne included.

In terms of texture is a super lightweight, watery formula, ideal for layering or even if you want to use it under another toner.
